HOT Launches Spanish & Arabic Website to Improve Language Access for LGBTQI2S+ Immigrants

We are thrilled to announce that Haus of Transcendent (HOT) has launched Spanish and Arabic versions of our website as part of our commitment to making Cleveland more inclusive for LGBTQI2S+ immigrants who face significant barriers accessing health and human services when they first arrive. LGBTQI2S+ immigrants often encounter multifaceted challenges due to their intersectional identities, including language barriers, racism, familial rejection, violence, and limited access to healthcare services.

Recognizing the urgent need to support these individuals, HOT has made language access a priority. We bridged this language gap by leveraging the language skills of HOT Ambassadors fluent in Spanish and Arabic, and by adding TranslatePress, a language translation plugin, to our website.

HOT’s mission is to create an accessible, vibrant, and healthy community for all, and we will achieve this by addressing the social determinants of health, including language access. By fostering a sense of belonging and understanding, HOT strives to create a supportive environment where LGBTQI2S+ immigrants feel included in programs and communication efforts.
