The George Gund Foundation Awards $20k Grant to HOT

We are thrilled to announce that Haus of Transcendent (HOT) has been awarded a $20,000 grant from The George Gund Foundation at the end of 2024! This generous support will help us advance our mission of creating an accessible, vibrant, and healthy community for all, particularly for LGBTQI2S+ individuals experiencing an acute crisis.

At HOT, we understand that housing is healthcare. Our work is rooted in providing emergency assistance to LGBTQI2S+ leaders experiencing acute crises—whether due to financial hardship, discrimination, or lack of family support. We connect individuals with vital resources, including housing support, food assistance, and health navigation, to address the social drivers of health that lead to health disparities.

Additionally, HOT is actively building affordable housing to prevent LGBTQI2S+ homelessness. HOT Hausing, our hausing initiatives, will create inclusive, safe, and affirming spaces that equip community members with the tools to achieve their goals and dreams.

We also leverage the power of art, case management, and community support to reduce harm and foster resilience. Through our ArtReach initiatives, direct service programs, and case management efforts, we provide a holistic approach to health and wellness, ensuring that LGBTQI2S+ individuals are connected to the resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

The Gund Foundation’s investment in our mission strengthens our ability to provide lifesaving interventions and long-term solutions to the most pressing challenges facing our community. Their commitment to fostering equity and justice is helping HOT build a future where all LGBTQI2S+ individuals have the resources, support, and housing they need to thrive.
