Haus of Transcendent Awarded $15,000 Grant from Cleveland Clinic
Funds will support wraparound services for LGBTQI2S+ community
Haus of Transcendent (HOT), a community-based organization dedicated to addressing the social drivers of health (SDOH) among LGBTQI2S+ people, has received a $15,000 grant from Cleveland Clinic.
Founded in 2023, HOT is focused on preventing homelessness among LGBTQI2S+ people, particularly those who are transgender, Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), immigrants, and disabled individuals. The organization provides critical support such as emergency aid, food, healthcare services, and technical assistance for those in crisis.
The grant will support the organization’s HOT Hausing program, dedicated to creating safe and supportive living spaces for LGBTQI2S+ individuals in Northeast Ohio. Funds will be used to grow wraparound services including wellness programs, mental health support and life skills workshops.
This marks the second grant awarded to HOT from Cleveland Clinic. In 2023, it received 10,000 to support identify and address the needs of LGBTQI2S+ people who are at risk of homelessness.
“Cleveland Clinic’s support underscores our shared commitment to addressing social drivers of health and creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” said Jordi Luke, CEO of Haus of Transcendent.
“This grant marks a significant step forward in enhancing the support network for LGBTQI2S+ individuals in Cuyahoga County,” Luke continued. “Exemplifying the power of community partnerships in driving positive change.”
