HOT Haus & Hub
HOT is dedicated to building community by helping individuals meet basic needs, especially those that promote health, well-being, and community. We serve all adults and specialize in serving LGBTQI2S+ people. Our mission is to create an accessible, vibrant, and healthy community for ALL. With a staff and Board comprised of multilingual and multicultural LGBTQI2S+ leaders, we pride ourselves on having both the professional expertise and the lived experience necessary to serve our diverse community.
BACKGROUND
HOT Hausing is Cleveland’s first low-barrier, inclusive, and accessible housing solution for LGBTQI2S+ people and allies, located on Cleveland’s East Side. It will be comprised of two affordable housing buildings and a community room, with wraparound support services provided from our on-site Resource Hub, a newly acquired 8,000 sq. ft. building located directly across the street from our housing facilities. As a Better Health Pathways HUB Care Coordination agency, our Community Health Workers specialize in connecting the community to critical resources: physical and behavioral healthcare, social services, legal help, food, transportation, employment, and more. This holistic approach is designed to provide both short and long-term stability.
CATALYST FOR HEALTH EQUITY
HOT provides wraparound services focused on the social drivers of health to reduce harm and promote stability:
- Culturally Responsive Care Coordination: Connecting clients to physical and behavioral healthcare, legal assistance, housing, transportation, social services, and more through Community Health Worker-led navigation and support.
- Emergency Help: Helping clients apply for financial assistance to address emergency needs.
- HOT Hausing: Promoting housing stability and safety by improving housing access.
- Education: Training clients to improve civic engagement, as well as health and financial literacy.
- Language Access: Embedding accessibility and language access into all of our content and programs.
2025
impact
Our team specializes in community development, legal aid, social services, outreach, and culturally competent services. In 2025, we connected 1,000+ clients to healthcare, social services, and prevention and harm reduction resources.
We have earned the trust of the community by mobilizing our 100+ volunteers to support our mission. They have helped us amplify the impact of our programs and raise $860,000 toward our $5,000,000 goal to construct our two permanent housing buildings and outfit our 8,000 sq. ft. Resource Hub to provide food, healthcare, job opportunities, and office space for our nonprofit partners. These milestones represent more than just numbers—they are proof of our commitment to building a community that is accessible, vibrant, and healthy for all.
