We are launching a basic needs survey, called HOT Poll, to connect LGBTQ+ adults to resources in NE Ohio, such as the Cleveland Clinic\u2019s Center for LGBTQ+ Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hausoftranscendent.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/CC_color-1024x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2527\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordi Luke, CEO of Haus of Transcendent, said \u201cMany LGBTQ+ people are abandoned\u2014and sometimes harmed\u2014when they come out to their family and friends, which puts them at greater risk of homelessness, unemployment, food insecurity, poverty, and lack of health insurance. HOT Poll is a pivotal element of our case management program because it will help us address the social determinants of LGBTQ+ health. We will reach hundreds of LGBTQ+ adults who have significant needs after they are abandoned by their families and community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HOT\u2019s innovative approach to community outreach focuses on engaging with LGBTQ+ adults who are in the nightlife. HOT Poll will be available in several languages, including Spanish, since LGBTQ+ people with limited English proficiency experience significant barriers when accessing resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Tomislav Mihaljevic, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic, made a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/tmihaljevic_martin-luther-king-jr-day-is-not-just-a-activity-7020781293575524352-Ubnp?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=member_ios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn post&nbsp;<\/a>earlier this year that said, \u201cCleveland Clinic treats millions of patients worldwide \u2013 people of many races, ethnicities, religions, ages, sexual orientations, cultures and other backgrounds. Our aspiration is to have a workforce as diverse as patients we serve.
