El CEO de Haus of Transcendent (HOT), Jordi Lucas, viaj\u00f3 a Cuba y M\u00e9xico gracias a una beca de la Atlantic Institute<\/a>. La subvenci\u00f3n cubre el costo de viaje para que HOT pueda asistir a reuniones con Atlantic Fellows que lideran iniciativas de equidad en diferentes partes del mundo.<\/p>\n\n

Las convocatorias de Atlantic Fellow crean una oportunidad \u00fanica para que HOT se conecte y desarrolle asociaciones con l\u00edderes transg\u00e9nero en el Sur Global. Para aprovechar esta oportunidad, establecimos el HOT Global fund<\/a>. Hemos proporcionado y seguiremos proporcionando los suministros que se necesitan con urgencia solicitados por los socios del Sur Global a trav\u00e9s de estas convocatorias anuales.<\/p>\n\n

Nuestro primer viaje en 2023 fue a Cuba. HOT se asoci\u00f3 con l\u00edderes transg\u00e9nero cubanos para organizar una reuni\u00f3n en un sal\u00f3n de tatuajes en La Habana, Cuba. A trav\u00e9s de esta asociaci\u00f3n distribuimos 300 libras de donaciones recaudadas por HOT en colaboraci\u00f3n con Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity. Las donaciones incluyeron art\u00edculos de tocador, medicamentos de venta libre, maquillaje, condones, lubricantes y otras necesidades b\u00e1sicas que actualmente no est\u00e1n disponibles en Cuba. Al encuentro asistieron 50 cubanos transg\u00e9nero que compartieron que hab\u00edan pasado tres a\u00f1os desde que organizaron un encuentro trans.<\/p>\n

En M\u00e9xico, HOT se asoci\u00f3 con OaxaTrans para organizar un evento comunitario para inmigrantes que viajan por Oaxaca. HOT y OaxaTrans compraron alimentos, bebidas, pi\u00f1atas y dulces para familias inmigrantes y ni\u00f1os necesitados. OaxaTrans comparti\u00f3 que estos eventos les han ayudado a conectarse con inmigrantes LGBTQI+ que est\u00e1n escapando de la violencia de su familia y\/o comunidad.<\/p>\n

HOT fue testigo de esto de primera mano. Durante este evento, Jordi conoci\u00f3 a varios inmigrantes Queer, incluido uno de Venezuela que escapaba de la violencia homof\u00f3bica. Nos enteramos de que le hab\u00edan robado su dinero y su pasaporte mientras cruzaba el tablero. Incluso comparti\u00f3 los muchos casos de muerte y violencia que encontr\u00f3 durante su viaje. Un \u00e1ngel defensor hizo una donaci\u00f3n a HOT Global para que pudi\u00e9ramos comprarle un boleto de autob\u00fas a la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y ayudarlo a acceder a un refugio LGBQI+ en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico. HOT todav\u00eda permanece en contacto con este inmigrante Queer.<\/p>\n\n

OaxaTrans y Haus of Transcendent tienen muchos objetivos en com\u00fan: educar al p\u00fablico y conectar a las personas transg\u00e9nero con recursos. Esta asociaci\u00f3n entre HOT y OaxaTrans nos ayudar\u00e1 a lograr nuestros objetivos compartidos. Creemos que la colaboraci\u00f3n nos ayudar\u00e1 a maximizar nuestra voz e impacto, y espero desarrollar programas que reduzcan el da\u00f1o que sufren las personas transg\u00e9nero, especialmente los inmigrantes y los ind\u00edgenas atendidos por OaxaTrans.<\/p>\n\n

OaxaTrans<\/a> est\u00e1 lanzando una estaci\u00f3n de radio comunitaria para abordar las brechas de conocimiento sobre identidad de g\u00e9nero, derechos de inmigrantes e ind\u00edgenas y sostenibilidad. HOT don\u00f3 equipos de radio y dos computadoras port\u00e1tiles, solicitados por OaxaTrans, para ayudarlos a lanzar una estaci\u00f3n de radio. HOT se complace en apoyar este importante proyecto porque M\u00e9xico ha visto una reciente ola de violencia contra las personas transg\u00e9nero. OaxaTrans tiene una experiencia significativa en la lucha contra el estigma y la desinformaci\u00f3n educando a la comunidad sobre una amplia gama de temas que perjudican a las personas transg\u00e9nero. \u00a0<\/p>\n

HOT tambi\u00e9n se est\u00e1 asociando con l\u00edderes transg\u00e9nero en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico. Proporcionamos computadoras port\u00e1tiles renovadas y organizamos una reuni\u00f3n con comida y bebidas en colaboraci\u00f3n con Nayla Tonalli Mondrag\u00f3n Urrutia, una tatuadora ind\u00edgena de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico que interpret\u00f3 La Danza de la Chichicullota en la convocatoria del Instituto Atl\u00e1ntico. Vermelha Noir de Rupaul's Drag Race M\u00e9xico nos ayuda a conectarnos con l\u00edderes locales para que podamos organizar un evento seguro, impactante y positivo.<\/p>\n\n
